Modernand Ancient: Exhibition Pavilions of Hong Kong Cultural Heritage Museum

#exhibitioninthepavilion The Hong Kong Museum of Cultural Heritage is surrounded by lush greenery, and the towers of the Shatin residential complexes are not visible from here. It is modeled after the traditional Siheyuan, a group of buildings harmoniously arranged around a central courtyard. But people come here not only to explore the intricate architecture. The extensive museum is divided into twelve exhibition galleries full of relics that reflect the culture and art of Hong Kong, as well as the nearby South China region. Here we should highlight the collection of beautiful Chinese paintings from the recognized master of the Khingan school, Chao Shao-An, a comprehensive and colorful exhibition dedicated to the development of Cantonese opera. It is also home to the first exhibition gallery in Hong Kong dedicated to the works of the famous writer Dr. Lewis Cha (literary pseudonym – Jing Yong), whose exhibits include more than 300 items, including early editions of the works of Jing Yong, priceless manuscripts, documents and photos. The full name of Hong Kong Cultural Heritage Museum in Chinese is 香港文化博物館. Although located quite far from the center of Hong Kong, this museum complex is very interesting — it includes 12 thematic galleries with extensive collections of art and culture objects from the entire history of Hong Kong and the entire South China region in general, plus several separate collections. The expositions dedicated to Cantonese opera and lithography and printing are especially worth noting. The Museum of Cultural Heritage is definitely worth visiting with a child, as there is an exhibition organized for children 4-10 years old in the museum. Here, in a playful way, they will talk about the origin of Hong Kong, its culture and nature. In addition to the permanent amazing exhibitions, temporary and seasonal exhibitions dedicated to the history, art and culture of China are held here. Address: New Territories, 1 Man Lam Road, Sha Tin (Mr. Che Kung Temple).
