A Japanese temple serving pancakes in Jordan?

‘Tera’ means temple in Japanese, which is why the restaurant's exterior resembles a modern temple, complete with a serene outdoor seating area ⛩ Helmed by a Le Cordon Bleu chef, @tera_pancake specialises in desserts, especially (yup, you guessed it) soufflé pancakes 🥞 We had booked a table on @openrice_hk for an afternoon snack session, so we didn’t order any of their savoury dishes, such as pastas or all day breakfasts 😞 [𝐘𝐮𝐳𝐮 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐚 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐚𝐤𝐞] It seems they forgot our order so we waited around one hour for this… The signature souffle pancakes were A+ with a strong egginess and cloud-like texture that melted in our mouths, but we felt that the toppings didn’t do them justice 😕 The yuzu matcha chocolate crisp and Shizuoka matcha cream were way too sweet while there wasn’t enough yuzu confit to balance the flavour profile 😌 [𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐋𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐥𝐞] They ran out of bananas that day so we couldn’t order the banana salted caramel flavour that we wanted to ty 😭Compared to the souffle pancakes, the waffles were not as outstanding and they could have been more generous with the blueberries and jam 🧇🫐 [𝐓𝐞𝐚] We shared two refillable teas among us 🍵 The subtle citrus of the earl grey tea well complemented the sweets, but the lychee rose tea was a little too syrupy to be paired with desserts 📍 TERA Shop 4, G/F, Po Fat Building, 273-285 Temple Street, Jordan (MTR exit C2) #本地遊 #foodie #cafe
