Hot 'Thai Gathering' at a New Spot in Prince Edward

The weather has been scorchingly hot lately! It's the perfect time to enjoy the bold flavors of Thai cuisine, and tonight, a group of good friends and I decided to have a 'Thai Gathering' at a new hot spot in Prince Edward. The Thai restaurant in Prince Edward has just opened recently, featuring a tropical decor with a very high ceiling, making the dining experience quite comfortable. With the heat, icy cold drinks are a must! Seeing the fruit shaved ice on the menu was very tempting, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered several different flavors. My friend chose the mango shaved ice for $58, which had a very rich and creamy texture and was refreshingly cool and deliciously sweet. For those who love watermelon, Car Dad picked the whole watermelon shaved ice for $78! The stunning whole watermelon shaved ice was very eye-catching and the sweet watermelon flavor was refreshingly cool. Of course, I chose my favorite, the whole pineapple shaved ice for $78! The pineapple was super sweet and you could tell there were no additives, just the real aroma of pineapple that was absolutely enchanting. In addition to the shaved ice, there were also delicious popping red beans, adding a lot of texture to the experience. The first dish to arrive was the golden snack platter for $168, which included shrimp cakes, fish cakes, spring rolls, single-bone chicken wings, and chicken rolls. I particularly liked the fried fish cakes with a strong red curry flavor, which had a delicious taste and texture from the bits of vegetables inside. My friend thoughtfully pre-ordered the shrimp tower for $468/32 pieces (which needs to be pre-ordered and the quantity can be adjusted according to customer requests). The three-tiered giant tower was very impressive and eye-catching. If you don't have as many people as we did, you can also choose the regular shrimp for $138/8 pieces. The fresh shrimp was very elastic and tasty, and it was even more exciting to eat with the two special sauces prepared by the chef. Next, we tried the grilled squid for $238! The whole squid was served on a bright grill accompanied by a bowl of fragrant soup. The sour and spicy soup was very appetizing, and the squid was cooked just right, making it very tender and delicious. The glass noodles and cabbage absorbed the essence of the soup, making them the perfect side dish. The signature curry crab for $438 is one of my favorite Thai dishes! The restaurant uses large Vietnamese crabs, which were very satisfying to eat with their tender and fresh meat. The curry had a sweeter flavor, which is great for friends who don't like spicy food. If you prefer soft-shell crabs, you can also pre-order them from the restaurant. Garlic bread for $38 is always a good friend to curry! The bread was baked crispy with a strong garlic flavor and was very tasty dipped in the curry sauce. It's been a while since I had Tom Yum Goong soup for $268/large, so we ordered a serving to share with everyone! The soup was very rich in color, and the 'Thai' aroma made our mouths water. The prawns were very bouncy and full of flavor, and the Tom Yum Goong soup was sour and fragrant but gently spicy! I would have preferred it a bit spicier. The mango explosive fish for $268 was very impressive and eye-catching! The tilapia was fried super crispy, and the chef thoughtfully filleted the fish for us, making it very comfortable to eat. The fish was crispy and not greasy, and it was very satisfying to eat with the savory sauce. I loved it with the refreshing green mango strips, which reduced the greasiness and added layers to the dish, making it superb. My top recommendation for the night was the whole Thai-style braised pork knuckle for $238. Just by looking at the color of the pork knuckle, you could tell how flavorful it was. The aromatic Thai marinade completely infused the pork knuckle, making the skin very bouncy and full of collagen flavor. The meat was flavorful and very tender, and with the pickled vegetables, I really wanted to order a bowl of rice to go with it. Finally, we also ordered two Thai-style stir-fried dishes! They were the flying morning glory for $78 and the Thai-style young coconut shoots for $98, with the morning glory's belacan being particularly savory and superior. Although we were already very satisfied, dessert is always a must! We ordered the three-color mango sticky rice for $68 to share. The three colors were original, pandan, and butterfly pea flower sticky rice, which had a very chewy and elastic texture. Paired with fresh mango and coconut milk, it was a sweet ending to this rich 'Thai Gathering'. This Thai Gathering place is spacious and comfortable, making it a great spot for group dining. Plus, its location in Prince Edward is very convenient, so everyone could easily head home after the meal.
