📍ADEGA DO ANTÓNIO THE KING OF PIRI PIRI 🔍33 Staunton Street, Soho, Central, Shop on ground floor of Jubilee Building ----- Caught in a downpour, I stumbled upon this restaurant for dinner to escape the rain. The restaurant has two floors, quite spacious, and is a bar-restaurant specializing in Portuguese cuisine. Seeing many positive reviews online, I decided to give it a try. The waitstaff greeted us with a smile, which was a good start. I wanted to order two Cocktails to try, but the bartender was out, so we switched to two glasses of House Wine and White, both of which were quite smooth. 🍽Bifaninha: A cute and delicate burger. The bread was soft and fluffy with a slightly crispy edge, with a faint aroma of olive oil. The pulled pork inside was moist and juicy, with the sweet and sour olives adding flavor, making the whole quite distinctive. 🍽Whole Piri-Piri: This large dish included roasted chicken, fries, rice, and salad. The chicken was seasoned with their homemade chili sauce, which was quite appetizing, spicy but not choking, and the meat was tender and juicy. The rice was different from traditional Chinese white rice, feeling a bit like Malaysian coconut milk rice in texture. The fries were soft and freshly fried. No complaints about the taste, but the price was a bit high. 🍽Robalo Grelhado: The grilled sea bass had a firm texture, simply seasoned with red onions, extra virgin olive oil, etc., which made the fish smooth and enhanced its freshness, served with soft and well-cooked steamed potatoes, not bad. 🍽Premium Pastel de Nata & Port Wine Baked: The edges of the Portuguese tart were crispy, and the center was different from the Hong Kong-style egg tart, sprinkled with a bit of cinnamon powder, with a texture similar to a denser custard. Paired with the strong alcoholic taste of Port Wine, it was sweet with depth, quite distinctive.
