A pilgrimage to a Jewish restaurant: multinational cuisine showcases taste

Tasting specialties from different countries can help broaden your horizons and experience, and also highlight your personal taste. We usually only have Chinese food at home, so do we still only choose Chinese food when we eat out? Hong Kong’s advantage is that it has cuisine from many different countries, many of which are run by foreigners and have more authentic flavors. That night I went on a pilgrimage to a kosher restaurant in search of food. The restaurant served Mediterranean cuisine. Due to religious reasons, Jewish cuisine does not contain pork or shellfish, and the main meats are beef, chicken and fish. Mezze Platter Mezze means appetizer. Platter has granular hummus, spicy red sauce eggplant, slightly spicy tomato and sweet pepper sauce, and smooth white sesame sauce. Among them, my favorite and most surprising one is the tomato and sweet pepper sauce. There are two pieces of hot Pita bread on the bread basket. Jews usually eat this kind of unleavened bread (unleavened bread is bread that is not fermented with yeast) to commemorate the escape of Jesus and his ancestors from Egypt. Falafel I didn’t want to eat too much meat that night, so I ordered a vegetarian chickpea mash vegetable ball. Falafel is famous for its low fat and high protein. It looks ordinary, but it’s very delicious! The outer layer is fried to a crispy crisp, and the inside is soft and crispy, preserving the tiny particles of chickpeas, which makes it more delicious! Grilled Norwegian Salmon in homemade teriyaki sauce The salmon is fried crispy and tender, and the flame is just right, but the soul of the whole dish lies in the sauce! Teriyaki sauce is not as heavy as Japanese, so it tastes light and not greasy. Even the vegetable granules on the side dish are quickly swept away! Even I, who hates celery the most, can actually eat it... Traditional BBQ Chicken in skewers The skewered chicken is tender and smooth, and the spices are light but not light. It is like an entry-level Middle Eastern dish, which is more easily accepted by Hong Kong people. Both main courses are delicious! Signature Delight Chocolate Cake The cake is large in size and has a particularly strong chocolate flavor. Chocolate fans should not miss it. If you sit next to an air-conditioned seat, it might be a bit cold, so it is recommended to bring a jacket. 📍Mul Hayam (TST)
