It is also the highest coastal defense battery in Hong Kong. In addition to the fort, the entire group of military relics also includes barracks, observation towers, headquarters, restrooms, bunkers, etc. It is relatively well preserved, so the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation has designated it as the "Pine Forest Abandoned Fort Historical Trail". Lung Fu Shan Country Park is the smallest country park in Hong Kong, with an area of ​​only 47 hectares. However, it has a wide variety of different flora and fauna, and you may have the opportunity to see the colorful red-backed flowerpeckers. Stop 3: Exploring century-old heritage sites at the University of Hong Kong After leaving Longhu Mountain, walk along the cement road until you reach the campus of the University of Hong Kong. You can take a bus to the MTR station or visit the surroundings to feel the cultural atmosphere. HKU officially opened its doors in 1912 and has a history of over a century. Three of its campus buildings have been rated as Grade I historic buildings, including the Ming Yuen Hall Auditorium, the Mei Wing and the Fung Ping Shan Building. However, they are all located near the East Gate, and you can also drop by to visit them. Its lotus pond allows you to feel the aura of heaven and earth where Dr. Sun Yat-sen studied here.
