Staycation@The Cityview

Last week, I went to the Cityview International Staycation with my dad. To celebrate its 15th anniversary, the hotel launched a limited accommodation experience featuring local "oil" typesetting. I thought it was interesting, so I went with my dad to spend a relaxing night. The room we stayed in for this staycation was originally a deluxe double room of the hotel, but luckily it was upgraded to a luxurious and stylish suite on the 24th floor of a prestigious building. I was so happy. This luxurious and stylish suite is super spacious with an area of 205 to 230 square feet. It has a living room and a bedroom, and the decoration is simple and comfortable. The living room and bedroom are equipped with a 42-inch smart TV, and can log on to the Internet and connect to a personal computer for free. The room is equipped with free coffee and tea bags and an electric kettle. There is also a mini refrigerator with two bottles of free distilled water. The room includes free wireless Internet access, which is very useful for someone like me who is always connected to the phone. After visiting the lobby in the suite, I walked into the bathroom in the room. The small black box at the washbasin contained toothpaste, toothbrush, shower cap, cotton swabs and comb, as well as the hair dryer that I needed most. It was small but complete. Bathing supplies are also available, including shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, and the bathroom has a bathtub or shower to choose from. The room is equipped with a king-size double bed, a large wardrobe and a personal safe. This package includes a cake celebrating The Cityview's 15th anniversary. A cake ticket will be given upon check-in and you can pick up the cake during the bakery's business hours. The cake we got was a handmade thousand-layer Tiramisu cake, and the coffee flavor was exactly what I liked. Mr. Che finally finished work and arrived. I had already prepared a delicious midnight snack for him! So every time after a staycation I would gain two pounds back haha. Our package includes a guided tour of the Hong Kong Movable Type Museum and a hand-cranked movable type printing experience (for 2 persons). Movable type printing is an intangible cultural heritage of Hong Kong's traditional handicrafts. There are many precious movable type printing equipment in the museum. The Movable Type Museum is a good place for the public to experience and understand the stories behind this craft. The tour guide who introduced this intangible heritage to us that day was named Atang. She led us through the 1.5-hour story of what movable type printing is. The movable type museum displays a hand-mirror movable type printing machine donated by Master Ou Wensheng of Shengfa Printing, as well as the master's extremely precious collection of grain receipts from the 1950s. Then there is the exhibition of lead printing on campus, where student manuals and school printouts full of childhood memories can also be appreciated. Of course, the most essential characters for printing are neatly arranged here! The wisdom of the older generation is truly amazing. I really admire how they found the type particles. There are several books on printing in the cabinet next to it, which are also worth your careful reading. Then we walked to this one called Heidelberg Fenghou mirror printing press, which was a very common "underwater treasure" in Hong Kong movable type printing shops in the mid-20th century. I thought it was just for reading words, but it was not! All the machines here are still working properly, including this one, and it was really fun to watch Tom show us how to operate them. At this moment, we can touch some printing tools with our own hands, and then we can also use the Adana hand-cranked letterpress to print commemorative cards. I am really looking forward to it. This is the Adana hand-cranked letterpress printing press. It is a fully manual direct-pressure letterpress printing press. It is relatively easy to operate and is most suitable for making cards and small printed materials. We finally had the chance to try printing commemorative cards ourselves. It turned out that the force used was not very fine, so this personal experience was really rare. The local "Oil" Trace Letterpress Printing Limited Accommodation Experience for two people is available at a special price starting from $860/night (original price starting from $1,600), with late check-out until 2pm (subject to availability). This accommodation experience also has a special offer on September 12th and must be booked 7 days in advance. #Staycation #HowFatMotherisMade #MomLovesCars #thecityview #Local「Oil」Trace Limited Accommodation #Citycafe
