Didn’t really get the hype about castella cakes until tasting authentic ones from @heiyuen_bakery 🤯 Freshly baked daily with less sugar and oil, we were astonished by the 150+ flavors available, including some unique ones like coriander and durian 😳 And if that’s not enough, you can even customize your own flavor combination and request for a 💛 design. No wonder we saw so many pre-orders waiting to be collected when we visited [𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐚𝐲𝐚] Moist and spongy, the cake itself was loaded with pandan flavor and the middle homemade kaya jam layer had a hint of coconut 🥥 It tasted equally amazing even if not reheated, so of course we devoured it before the 3 days expiry [‘𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐝’ 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐞] If you haven’t guessed why the cake is called ‘scouring pad’ already, the seaweed sprinklings on top of the soft cheese base perfectly resembles its name 🧀 There was a little seaweed overload, so we brushed a bit off to better savor the pillow-like cake that just melted in our mouths and the pandan kaya jam layer 🤤 🌟Tip: Collect 12 stamps to get $55 off the bill.
