The Cowshed Arts Village was built in 1908 and has been used as a livestock quarantine station and slaughterhouse for more than 90 years. It is the only remaining historical building complex in Hong Kong and is listed as a Grade II historic building by the Antiquities and Monuments Office. It was renamed the Cowshed Arts Village in 2001, rented to art workers for workshops, performances, exhibitions, and art sharing.
