foodie and culture tour

#mytripvlog Tried out a walking food tour when in Hoi An and it's definitely a touristy thing to do, but we got to try out and enjoy some food that we might never get to try or attempted to try if we were on our own. The food that stood out would be balut - fertilised duck embryo. It is a food that I guessed I won't pluck up the courage to try if not for the presence and persuasion of the guide. I tried a bit of the balut. Well, it's not as bad as I thought, but I'm definitely not finishing it in my first attempt. The experience of the food tour was really nice. Besides bringing us to try out the local stalls, be it a shop or by the roadside, the guide made an effort to introduce the history and culture of the city to us. It's definitely an eye-opener for us.
