In 1961, the Supreme Patriarch of Sri Lankan Buddhism, Narada Mahathera, donated a Bodhi tree sapling extracted from the mother tree at Bodh Gaya, India, to the temple. It was planted within the temple grounds and has now transformed into a huge Bodhi tree.
People offer prayers at the shrine in front of the tree.
The temple has a spacious garden with many trees that allow the breeze to pass through.
