[Hida Takayama x Winter Travel] A townscape that feels like a time slip back to the Edo period

The old-fashioned atmosphere makes you want to take photos😍 ▶️Takayama rickshaws have been running since 1970 and are the original tourist rickshaws in Japan ▶️Of the 60 or so district magistrate offices across the country, Takayama Jinya is the only one that still has the original building. A morning market is held in front of the Jinya, and many shops are lined up and bustling. I was looking forward to it, but unfortunately it was closed. The morning market was open, but only for a short time. ▶️Takumi Bus, a tourist-focused bus that runs through Takayama city [Hou-go] inspired by the Hida dyeing of festival costumes [Shishi-go] inspired by lion dances [Kankako-go] inspired by festival music Although you can only see it from the outside, the interior also incorporates Hida crafts. ▶️It can be used for sightseeing between Takayama Station and the parking lot in the city center, connecting tourist spots. If you use it, you can park for free for 3 hours at parking lots in the city. ▶️Two slightly grotesque and humorous statues standing on Kajibashi Bridge One is a long-armed man The other is a long-legged man These two statues are bronze statues of sculptures displayed on the Ebisudai floats of the Takayama Festival. These statues are modeled after Ashinazuchi and Tenazuchi, characters from the Izumo mythology.
