Eight years later, National Day, see you again at Hengshan Peak!

On October 2nd, the sky was clear and the air was fresh. At around 8:00 am, we arrived at the Hengshan Tourist Center. After queuing for over an hour, we took the shuttle bus to Nantianmen. The driver of the Hengshan shuttle bus was like a car god from Mount Akina. The road was steep and winding, with the pedestrian path and the car lane constantly overlapping. The driver drove like a whirlwind, making the tourists' hearts jump and their heads spin. My wife couldn't bear it anymore and started vomiting after passing the Halfway Pavilion. So, we got off the bus and walked up the mountain. After passing Nantianmen and Shangfeng Temple, after more than an hour, at around 12:40, we finally reached Mount Zhurong again after eight years. Mount Zhurong in Nanyue is a popular destination for prayer and打卡 (checking in). The incense is strong and the crowds are large, but it's still acceptable. It's not as crowded as I imagined, and it's not so suffocating that you can't breathe. Eight years ago, in midsummer, we walked down from Mount Zhurong. We walked and stopped, checking in and enjoying the scenery along the way. The whole journey, from the mountaintop to the Victory Arch at the foot of the mountain, took about 7 hours. Today, eight years later, due to time constraints, we decided to walk halfway to the Halfway Pavilion and then take the bus down. We walked briskly and slowly, and it was much easier to go downhill. At around 15:40, we arrived at the Halfway Pavilion. There were not many tourists waiting for the bus at the Halfway Pavilion. We waited for more than half an hour, and the dispatched bus arrived. The whole journey was relatively smooth. Longtou Nanyue Temple, Longwei Zhurong Peak, eight years later, let's go again. I heard that after 17:00, those who are waiting for the bus at Nantianmen may have to wait for more than three hours. That's really a pain!
