The aesthetically pleasing and meaningful Hechai 1972, Hefei's 798?
During a business trip to Hefei, besides checking in at various shopping malls, a local friend recommended a cultural and creative park called 'Hechai 1972', also known as 'Hefei's 798 Art Zone' in the hearts of the local youth.
Hechai 1972 is located at the junction of Baohe District, Shushan District, and the new district for government and cultural affairs. It is the first cultural and creative park in the country that has been transformed from an old prison site and officially opened in 2019.
The project's predecessor includes the Hefei Brick and Tile Factory, Hefei Diesel Engine Factory, and Hefei Prison. After the relocation of Hefei Prison in 2018, Hefei did not demolish the old factory buildings. Instead, it revitalized them through a combination of 'industrial heritage conservation and cultural creativity rebirth', which has now become an increasingly popular destination for culture, business, and tourism.

As soon as you enter the park, it's as if you've traveled back to the world of ancient knights, with every step treading on the rhythm of history👣. Imagine riding a shared bike, humming a tune, with the willow trees by the road swaying gently, as if saying, 'Come on, come and enjoy carefreeness!'🍃
🏞️The hottest spot is definitely the huge lake. When boating, you feel like a great hero of the rivers and lakes, and you might even encounter a group of leisurely ducks, calm as if they come with their own BGM, 'Quack quack, life should be with water and ducks!'🦆
📸Don't miss the photo check-in spots. The ancient-style pavilions and towers, paired with a cup of tea, strike a pose, and you'll be the star of your social circle in minutes!🍵
Of course, when you're tired from walking, try the snacks on the nearby snack street. Spicy hot pot, candied haws, every bite is full of happiness, it's a carnival for your taste buds!🌶️ Berry jelly!
Don't forget, there's also a light show at night! The cool lasers and music intertwine, making you feel like the whole world is cheering for you!🎶
To sum up, Xiaoyaojin Park not only has beautiful scenery but also fun. How can you live up to your leisure time without visiting it once? Bring your smile, and see you in the Jianghu!👋
This is the Xiaoyao Ford mentioned in 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms'
In 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms', the historical event described by 'Cao Cao pacified the Hanzhong region, and Zhang Liao's might shook Xiaoyao Ford' refers to the Xiaoyao Ford, which is now the Citizen's Park in Hefei.
Xiaoyao Ford was an ancient battlefield of the Three Kingdoms period. It used to be a ferry crossing on the Fei River, but now it has been turned into a park.
The park contains a lake, covering an area of over a hundred acres. On the island in the lake, there are pavilions, platforms, and the tomb of Zhang Liao's official attire.
If you have strolled through the bustling Huaihe Road pedestrian street, you will definitely be curious about who the equestrian statue on the street represents.
With this curiosity, it was not until the moment I arrived at Xiaoyao Jin Park that my confusion was finally cleared~
Entering from the south gate of the park, what catches your eye is the statue of Zhang Liao with a sword on horseback. On the left hand side is the elephant slide🛝 that is super loved by both children and adults in Hefei. On the right hand side is the lake tour, where boating🚣🏻♂️ is also a popular way for many people to spend their leisure time~
The park not only completely preserves the tomb of Zhang Liao, a great general of the Cao Wei dynasty, but also the Feiqi Bridge, where Sun Quan of the Eastern Wu was defeated, has been restored and rebuilt within the park, further enriching the connotations and artistic conception of Xiaoyao Ford.

Baohe Park's Fuzhuang in Hefei
Fuzhuang is one of the landscapes of Baohe Park, located on the eastern islet of the park's waters. It consists of a classical garden landscape built with teahouses, winding pavilions, and pavilion bridges along the water. From a distance, the whole looks like a willow leaf floating on the water surface, and the buildings on the island resemble an ancient village, hence the name Fuzhuang. It was originally the Bao Gong Academy and was rebuilt in 1983.
Bao Gong Temple: A Convergence of History and Culture
Located on the eastern section of Huan Cheng South Road in Hefei city, a quaint and elegant complex of buildings stands quietly. It is the Bao Gong Temple—a place imbued with profound historical and cultural significance. The full name of the temple is 'Bao Gong Xiao Su Temple', which is not only the main ancient architectural complex of Baohe Park but also an important venue for us to explore the spirit of Bao Zheng and experience the long-standing history and culture of Anhui.
In the first year of the Hongzhi era (1488), the governor of Luzhou, Song Jian, built the Bao Gong Academy here, which gradually evolved into the Bao Gong Temple. This place has not only witnessed the legendary deeds of Bao Zheng's life but also carries the reverence and remembrance of later generations for this great figure.
Stepping into the Bao Gong Temple is like traveling through a tunnel of time, returning to that era of justice and integrity. The exhibits in the temple hall are rich and varied, including both an introduction to Bao Zheng's life and a display of ancient legal culture. Each exhibit seems to tell the legendary story of Bao Zheng, deeply moving visitors.
The Qingfeng Pavilion, as an important part of the Bao Gong Temple, has a unique architectural style and profound implications. It symbolizes Bao Zheng's spirit of integrity, fairness, and selflessness, and also represents the Anhui people's reverence and inheritance of this historical figure. Standing on the Qingfeng Pavilion and overlooking the entire Baohe Park, one can almost feel Bao Zheng's righteous spirit and his overwhelming presence that purifies the world.
cassia_serenity_valentine Hefei Park Notes | In February, Baohe writes the spirit of spring with plum cheeks and willow eyes
✅ Baohe Park, has condensed the collective memory of generations of Hefei people.
The Bao Xiaosu Ancestral Hall, with its long history, is located on the 'Fragrant Flower Mound' surrounded by water on all sides in Baohe. It was built during the Ming Dynasty to commemorate the famous Song Dynasty official 'Qingtian' Bao Zheng, and today's main hall was renovated with silver donated by Li Hefei in the late Qing Dynasty. In spring, green trees, bamboo, and blooming flowers are set against each other, the wind rustles the bamboo leaves, the fragrance of flowers is faint, birds sing in the sky, and waterfowl swim leisurely, serene but not noisy. Beside the hall, there is a well named 'Lianquan' after Bao Zheng's integrity and honesty. On both sides of the main entrance, lotuses are planted in the river, providing coolness in summer.
Floating Village, another island in the river, shaped like a willow leaf floating on the water. It is said to have been Bao Gong's academy, rebuilt in the 1980s, combining Suzhou and Huizhou garden styles, with white walls and black tiles, water pavilions, corridors, pavilions, and bridges over flowing water, fish frolic in ponds with lotus. From a distance, the shadows of the island, buildings, and trees reflect each other, with patches of sky light penetrating the water light.
On the slope of the south bank of the river, there are Qingfeng Pavilion and Bao Gong's tomb. The tomb of Bao Zheng's family was moved from his hometown in Feidong, and Bao Qingtian is undoubtedly from Hefei, Luzhou. Qingfeng Pavilion is tall and is the best place to overlook Baohe.
It is said that the lotus roots of Baohe are 'fiberless', originating from Bao Qingtian's 'selflessness'.
✅ At the beginning of February in the lunar calendar, the winter scene has not yet completely faded, and the beat of spring is becoming clearer. Walking by the river, one is deeply moved by the vivid changes of the seasons.
The Chinese tallow trees are full of white seeds, shiny, early spring food stored for birds in winter.
The peak of plum blossoms is gradually receding, with cheeks slightly haggard, but still smiling at the spring light.
The winter jasmine blooms early, sprinkling dots of golden yellow, dressing the green water and arch bridges in spring clothes:
The magnolias standing tall on the branches are like white candles, burning their fragrance in a short season.
✅ Now, the willow trees are just taking center stage, the most eye-catching.
From a distance, it's the color, a stroke that paints a suitable shade of charm.
Up close, the young buds are just blooming, like little babies opening their eyes, the tender green hanging on the branches, the February spring breeze cuts out 'thousands of strands of green silk ribbons', looking forward to being dressed in jade, with peach blossoms and willows, flowers blooming like a brocade.
✅ 'Walk this way, walk that way, just seeking flowers and willows. Walk that way, walk this way, do not tire of the golden cup of wine'.
