On the road | Harbin, like a coastal city～

The Songhua River is my personal favorite place in Harbin among all the spots~ When I came to Harbin at the end of 2017, the Songhua River was already covered with thick ice, so I didn’t get to see its shimmering waves. This time in Harbin, I specifically took a day to walk along the river from the Flood Control Monument Tower toward the direction of the sunset, all the way to Youyi Wharf and Yangmingtan Bridge. I met fishermen shivering in the cold wind but still persistent, young couples holding hands for a walk, an elderly couple, and patrolling police officers. When they saw me holding a camera, they asked if I was a local or a tourist and reminded me not to go too close to the water because the river is deep and accidents can happen easily. I told them I wouldn’t go to the riverbank and would just walk along the avenue, thanking them for the reminder. Speaking of which, I was really scared of the wind by the Songhua River. I had arranged to take photos here with a friend, but my hat was blown into the river 🤣🤣 Ah~ it was a new hat, the first time I wore it out~ Originally, I planned to walk along the river to Yangmingtan Bridge to watch the sunset, but before I got there, the sun had completely set 🥲 Ah!! Winter in the north, it gets dark too early, by 4:30 PM it’s already dark. Although I always head out early, I have yet to see a perfect sunset. Hahaha, I rambled a lot again~ Actually, at times like this, I feel that walking slowly like this is a great travel experience, but sometimes it also feels like this kind of travel leaves no trace, like it doesn’t leave anything behind… But at this moment, whatever, I don’t care about anything!
