Is this still the 'Sun Island' I know?

🍼From childhood to adulthood, it's a place I visit at least once a year 📍 To say it's fun, it really isn't. This 5A scenic spot is somewhat lackluster, possibly not even as good as some free parks in the south, let alone any garden landscapes. But I still like to come here. Maybe it's a sentiment from childhood👒 or perhaps it's the 'backyard' of us Harbin people. This year, with Harbin's popularity🔥, Sun Island has also become 'fashionable'. The light show at night is really quite special. As a local, I joined in the fun. Entering the park around 6:30 PM is just right. It's off-peak time, and there aren't many people inside. Most people are leaving. The sunset in the evening combined with the slightly lit lights makes the air feel like it's orange-flavored. The waterfall light show is at 7:30 PM and lasts about 10 minutes. After dinner, you can take a leisurely walk to digest and have a look. There's no need to make a special trip. The time isn't very long, especially in this season when there are more mosquitoes🦟. Making a special trip might leave you feeling a bit unsatisfied. A little complaint: The small waterfall, Swan Lake, Squirrel Island, and Deer Park were once worth a visit. Even if you didn't feed the animals, you could at least visit and admire them. Now, even Squirrel Island🐿️ is fenced off and charges a fee. As a native of this emerging tourist city, I feel: the way they do it is a bit ugly. Especially now with such a large flow of tourists, people taking an electric car, buying a bottle of water, or buying some sunflower seeds to feed the squirrels🐿️ also boosts the tourism economy. There's really no need to fuss over the ticket fee. It's been free for so many years. Now that the tourist flow has increased, they fenced it off and started charging for tickets. The key point is: that small area of a few dozen square meters, just to see a few squirrels🐿️, makes the ticket price feel really 'unjust'. For a little petty profit, they lost their reputation. It's really not worth it. I love my hometown. I love Harbin. I hope it gets better and better.
