A mish mash of old and new

Unlike other fast developing parts of Vietnam, more specifically Ho chi minh city in the south. Hanoi still retains it's past. There is something about Hanoi that is reminiscent of the communist past. There are parts of Hanoi that appear extremely old and then there are high rises of a modern Vietnam. Most of the action is around the Hoan Kiem lake. With seasons it offers a different charm. The old town located near the lake is conjested but filled with places of tourist interest.
