Hanko old water tower

If you plan your visit to the southernmost town in Finland, I recommend you to visit the old water tower sightseeing platform. Hanko is located about 120 km away from Helsinki via the road 51. it will take about 2 hours to drive because the road is amazingly small. But if you have the courage to come to Hanko, you come to a beautiful town with old houses and an amazing view to the Baltic Sea. In the center of the town right next to the church stands the old water tower. You can visit the tower by paying an entrance fee of 3 euros and riding the elevator up to the high floor. The tower sightseeing floor is located at 65 meters above the sea level and the tower is 48 meters high. You can also see the Finnish archipelago and the southernmost cape of Finland, Tulliniemi. There’s also a small gift shop inside the tower and you can buy some souvenirs from the upper level. It’s both cheap and interesting place to visit. I recommend going on a clear day.
