Jingci Temple

Basic Information - Address: No. 56 Nanshan Road, Xihu District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. - Tickets: CNY 10/person. Reservations can be made on the "Hangzhou Temple Visit Reservation Platform." Free entry for temple annual pass holders. - Opening hours: 6:30 am–5:00 pm, ticket sales stop at 4:45 pm. Transportation - Bus: Take bus No. 102, B4, K155, etc., and get off at Jingci Temple Station. - Car: Navigate to "Jingci Temple." There is a parking lot opposite the temple, charging CNY 10/hour. Highlights - Architecture: The Diamond Hall is a single-story hip-and-gable roof style, with a vertical plaque bestowed by Emperor Qianlong hanging above the main entrance. The Mahavira Hall maintains the appearance of ancient Ming Dynasty architecture, with a glazed tile hip-and-gable roof. The plaque is the handwriting of Master Hongyi. - Special experiences: Go to the bell tower and strike the "Evening Bell at Nanping Mountain," experiencing the unique charm of one of the Ten Scenes of West Lake. Bell striking is CNY 10/person. At the bathing Buddha pool in front of the Sakyamuni Hall, scoop water with a long pole to bathe the Buddha and cleanse your soul. - Cultural exhibitions: The Jingci Art Museum, located on the first basement level of the Sakyamuni Hall, is open to the public free of charge. Exhibits include remnants of Buddha statues, stone tablets, calligraphy, and paintings. Themed exhibitions are also occasionally held. - Food: Vegetarian food is served in the temple, such as dried tofu for CNY 2/skewer and vegetarian roast goose for CNY 7/piece. Suchun Vegetarian Restaurant, a century-old restaurant, is 50 meters outside the temple. Photo Spots - In the open space below the Sakyamuni Hall, the photographer stands on the stone steps in front of the Sakyamuni Hall and shoots from top to bottom to capture a panoramic view of West Lake and Leifeng Pagoda. - Take a photo of Leifeng Pagoda from inside the Sakyamuni Hall, using the door frame as the foreground. - The yellow wall inscribed with "Entering the Earth Three Times" outside the Dharma Hall is a good place for photos in the afternoon when the sun is slanting and the whole wall is dappled with light and shadow.
