Hangzhou | Amanfayun, a Zen Chinese-style hotel

This trip to Hangzhou was all about relaxing. I didn't want to be surrounded by people, I just wanted to chill at the hotel. The reviews of Amanfayun online are very mixed, so I booked a night to try it out. 👉🏻 Pros👇🏻 🌿 The environment is really nice. The air is super fresh. Who wouldn't love staying in a place surrounded by birds and flowers? When the sun comes out, the light and shadows are beautiful. 💁🏼‍♀️ The service is really attentive. You can always expect a warm greeting from the hotel staff. The room was full of New Year vibes. The room service was very responsive. Due to renovation restrictions, there was no bathtub in the room, but the spa center offers free baths. In the evening, hotel staff will come to your room with a flashlight to pick you up. The underfloor heating in the room was very warm, almost too warm 😂. There are different activities every afternoon. The room also provides scriptures and notebooks for guests to copy. There weren't many guests when we stayed, so the hotel thoughtfully provided a shuttle service to the airport 👍🏻. 🏡 The design is really unique. Entering the hotel feels like entering a paradise, in stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of the surrounding scenic area. The designer has preserved the original appearance of the ancient village of Fayun, and the garden landscape is natural. 📍 The location is really convenient. The hotel's main road leads directly to Lingyin Temple, Faxi Temple, and other temples. Guests also receive tickets to the Feilai Peak Scenic Area. We went to Lingyin Temple early in the morning and were able to make it back to the hotel in time for breakfast, which ends at 11 am 🍽. 👉🏻 Cons👇🏻 💡 To recreate the life of an ancient village, there is no TV in the room, and the lighting is a bit dim. There is no bedside table, so we had to use a chair instead 😂. 🐞 There are a lot of plants, so there are also a lot of mosquitoes and insects, even in winter. 🚽 The bathroom design is a bit inconvenient. They could really consider adding a glass partition or something, at least to isolate the smell 😂. 🚧 Because the hotel's main road is a public road, security personnel are always checking whether people are hotel guests. Of course, this is also to ensure the privacy and safety of guests. 👉🏻 Overall, it was a special experience. It was a great place to relax and unwind. It's not easy to create a design that allows you to enjoy the present moment. I still miss the hotel's environment and attentive service, and I want to try the other Aman hotels ❤️.
