#holidayseason Huagang Guanyu Park (Flower Harbor Viewing Fish) is named after its most famous feature: the koi fish swimming in a clear pond surrounded by lush greenery. It's located at the southern end of West Lake, known as one of the "Ten Scenes of West Lake," and a must-visit for anyone exploring Hangzhou. Personally, this park left the strongest impression on me. I like this park the most. It's genuinely charming with diverse views around every corner. The harmony of water, plants, and stone bridges creates a picture-perfect setting. --- 🍒 Interesting Spots 🍒 1. Red Carp Pond (Viewing Fish Zone): The centerpiece of the park is the koi pond, where visitors can watch vibrant red carps swimming. It’s said that feeding the fish here brings good luck, so don’t miss this lively spot! 2. Flower Harbor: A section of the park that lives up to its name, with seasonal blooms creating a kaleidoscope of colors. This area is especially breathtaking in spring when the cherry blossoms and other flowers are in full bloom. 3. Peony Garden: A well-maintained garden showcasing various species of peonies. to see them in their full glory, make a visit during late spring. 4. The Pavilion and Stone Bridges: Scattered throughout the park, these traditional features add an old-world charm. The picturesque settings add to the dreamy romantic atmosphere. 5. West Lake Views: The park connects seamlessly with West Lake, offering stunning views framed by graceful willow trees. --- 🐝 Suggested Route 🐝 To make the most of your visit, here’s a route I’d recommend: 1. Start at the Main Entrance: Enter through the main gate and head straight to the Red Carp Pond. Enjoying the fish and feeding them if you’d like. 2. Move to Flower Harbor: Walk along the scenic path toward Flower Harbor, soaking in the nature and tranquil waters. 3. Visit the Peony Garden: If it’s spring, don't miss out spending some time here to admire the vibrant flowers. 4. Explore the Pavilions and Bridges: Wander through the winding paths, stopping at pavilions and crossing the stone bridges. It's the part of the park that bring you into the Chinese historical dream. 5. End at the West Lake Viewing Points: Find a peaceful spot to relax and enjoy the views or continue your journey to other parts of West Lake via the connecting pathway. --- 🫧 Tips for Visiting 🫧 • Time to Explore: I had only 1.5 hours and it wasn't enough! To truly enjoy the park, I think I would need at least 3 hours. And avid photographers or flower enthusiasts might need a full half day. • Best Time to Visit: I can see that the park is charming all year-round as I went there on a rainy day and still found it very beautiful, but I’ve heard spring (March to May) is especially stunning for flower viewing, and autumn offers gorgeous foliage. • Bring Snacks: There’s limited food within the park, so packing some light snacks is a good idea if you’re staying long. • Wear Comfortable Shoes: The paths are easy to walk but involve some uneven terrain. You might also want to try crossing the stream on the stones, so sturdy shoes are recommended to not fall on the ground or water 😆 • Arrive Early: I visited early on a rainy morning and had the place almost to myself. By late morning, even with the rain, the park grew noticeably crowded. Arriving early ensures you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. ---
