Hupao 1934 Hotel

Located at No. 6-1 Huyu Road, Xihu Scenic Area, Hangzhou, the hotel was designed by architects Wang Chi and Xie Ke over four and a half years. The hotel was built in 1934 and was originally used by Catholic priests to escape the summer heat. The design is elegant and understated, while retaining traces of history. The hotel has 23 rooms, each named after a flower or plant, such as iris, trumpet creeper, and redbud. Each room is unique. Natural light and the sounds of birds and insects are brought into the rooms through the windows. The public area includes the "Wujincang" study, "Fengyuexian" tea room, "Wanlaifeng" terrace, "Lvyeping" wedding lawn, "Xiangjianhuan" banquet hall, and "Linye" leisure lawn. The landscape pool and lawn garden attract many newlyweds to hold weddings here. The hotel's restaurant, Yueya Free Restaurant, has also made a name for itself in Hangzhou's restaurant scene with its unique dishes and fusion of Chinese and Western cuisine.
