Tangqi, this Jiangnan water town, has attracted countless tourists since ancient times with its unique geographical location and long history and culture. My visit this time is not only a gathering with old friends, but also an exploration of this ancient town. Tangqi is an ancient town with a history of more than 1,500 years. The ancient canal here meanders, the Guangji Bridge is majestic and spectacular, the water town houses are scattered, and the unique charm of the Jiangnan water town is everywhere. We first came to a local restaurant where a friend often goes, called "Tangjing Xiaoyuan". This is a restaurant hidden in the depths of the alley but also on the water. The atmosphere inside is warm and there is a pavilion outside. The dishes are clean and light but also delicious home-cooked dishes. The boneless phoenix claws and steamed mandarin fish are particularly impressive. After enjoying the lunch, we strolled along the ancient canal and watched the scenery of Tangqi. The ancient canal runs through the town, witnessing the prosperity and changes of this ancient town. Walking by the river, the breeze is blowing, the white walls and black tiles on both sides of the canal, the ancient bridges and pavilions come into view, as if they have traveled to the Jiangnan water town centuries ago. The Guangji Bridge in Tangqi is one of the most famous bridges on this canal. It was built in the Ming Dynasty. It is antique and spans the blue waves. It is magnificent. Standing on the bridge, looking at the slowly flowing river, I can't help but think of the scene when Emperor Qianlong went down the river from here when he went down to Jiangnan. It seems that history and reality are intertwined at this moment.
