The Gongchen Bridge represents half of the history of Hangzhou, and the section of the Grand Canal to which the Gongchen Bridge belongs brings together the history and culture of the entire city of Hangzhou. The white walls, black tiles and tree-lined paths here are full of the flavor of old Hangzhou. Time seemed to slow down, and I walked leisurely on the cobblestone streets of the neighborhood, savoring the intoxicating Jiangnan charm. [Island] Recommended attractions [One] Gongchen Bridge The tallest and longest stone arch bridge in Hangzhou. Walking on the stone slabs gives you a sense of history and you can see the entire canal from afar. [Two] Canal Square The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal Museum is located here. [Three] Qiaoxi Historic District A cluster of buildings along the river, including the Umbrella Museum, Fan Museum, Sword Museum, and Hangzhou Arts and Crafts Museum, are all worth a visit. [Four] Xiaohezhi Street A literary street along the river, with various coffee shops, handmade shops, vintage shops, pubs, and restaurants. The scenery of the ancient street is beautiful and it is a good place to take photos. [Five] Dadou Road Historical and Cultural District Many ancient buildings from the Republic of China period are preserved. The district is along the river and has many coffee shops, restaurants, handcraft shops, and recently there is a spring market, which is very lively.
