The Da Long Bay scenic area in western Zhejiang is known for its unique rocks, streams, and waterfalls

I encountered Da Long Bay on a hot summer weekend. Despite the forecast predicting temperatures over 35 degrees Celsius, walking into the canyon brought waves of cool air, making it a perfect retreat from the heat. The area is an extension of the Huangshan mountain range. While the scenery may not be as magnificent as Huangshan, it has its own distinctive charm. Starting from the valley entrance, following the plank path along the stream, you'll find peculiar rocks and crystal-clear streams, with deep pools and waterfalls appearing occasionally. One of the more famous attractions is the Longtan Waterfall, surrounded by cliffs on three sides. The waterfall cascades down from over twenty meters high, resembling a round barrel with a vast area. The waterfall has a large flow and never dries up throughout the year. The pool below never seems to fill up, adding a sense of mystery. Additionally, there is the 'Heavenly Pool Reflecting the Green' landscape, located below Da Long Bay, with a broad view where green mountains, silver waterfalls, and the azure pool complement each other beautifully. For a travel tip, it is recommended to drive yourself and navigate directly to 'Da Long Bay Scenic Area.' If opting for public transport, you can take a bus to Changhua from Hangzhou West Bus Station, then transfer to bus 2916 at the same station and get off at the Da Long Bay stop. Not far from the Da Long Bay stop is the Longjing Gorge Rafting, where you can take a shuttle bus to enter Da Long Bay.
