Taihu Yuan in Lin'an

The Taihu Yuan Scenic Area is located in Lin'an, close to the border with Anji, about a 2-hour drive from the main urban area of Hangzhou. The scenic area claims to be the 'Little Jiuzhaigou of the South of the Yangtze River,' but it seems to have little in common with Jiuzhaigou. Perhaps I visited at the wrong time? I didn't see the water being particularly abundant or green. The glass walkway is quite ordinary, nothing special, but the scenery on both sides is okay. Various pavilions and temple attractions are also quite mundane. The only fun part is that after descending from the glass walkway, you can trace the stream upwards to the source of Taihu Lake. Along the way, there's a small waterfall, which is perfect for stream tracing and playing in the water in summer, swimming shallowly. If you're not tracing the stream or playing in the water, the walking path is also easy to navigate. The entire journey upstream, taking photos and playing in the water a bit, takes over two hours. By the time we arrived, it was already past 3 pm. From start to finish, we only saw two other people, and there were no staff members in the scenic spots, but we still had a reasonably good time. I feel that if this attraction weren't so far away, it would probably attract a decent number of visitors. The surrounding mountains are also good for a climb. (An ordinary account of the trip)
