Pingyao 'Natural Creation', founded in 2013, has been dedicated to field surveys of Chinese folk crafts, capturing and organizing a large amount of video, physical, and textual materials. In 2020, the 'Natural Creation Folk Art Research Center' was established, and through innovative research and transformation, traditional folk arts have been continuously deconstructed and recreated, allowing more people to experience the charm of authentic Chinese traditional culture. Pingyao 'Natural Creation' spans three floors: on the first floor, the first thing that catches the eye is a hand-drawn map titled 'Discovering the Beauty of China's Local Charm'. Each mark on the map represents the steadfast steps of the Natural Creation team in their exploration of folk arts. More impressive than the dense markings is a wall full of photos of craftsmen. In these photos, each craftsman's gaze never strays from their passion, all focused on the handicrafts they are creating, whether it be weaving, painting, or carving. They are the storytellers of folk art. The first floor also features a courtyard and a coffee corner. The second floor is filled with a dazzling array of cultural and creative products (products redeveloped by Natural Creation), which include the Handicraft-Natural Gifts series, the Chinese Festival series, and the New National Trendy Toy series. The third floor is home to folk art classes and a hands-on workshop. This is a paradise for handcraft enthusiasts. Here, you can experience various interesting hands-on activities such as rattan weaving, clay sculpting, paper cutting, and iron art. In short, here you will deeply feel the unique charm of intangible cultural heritage and the endless joy of handicrafts.
