Because he was proficient in medicine and kind-hearted, he accidentally died in a drowning incident while helping others. The local people spontaneously raised funds to bury him, and Emperor Guangxu bestowed a plaque and conferred the title of Zhang Da Zhenren. From the tomb of Zhang Daochang at the end of the Qing Dynasty, it developed from a tomb pavilion to a shrine, then to Zhang Da Xian Temple, and was demolished in 1958 and changed to 'Gongchen Bridge Health Clinic', leaving only the dilapidated San Guan Hall. Then in 2008, this Qing Dynasty Taoist temple, which had almost no incense, was rebuilt at No. 6 Qiaoxi Straight Street, Gongchen Bridge. After another renovation in 2022, it was reopened on June 15, 2023, and renamed 'Gongchen Taoist Temple'. The current head of the Taoist temple is Zhang Chongda, the 26th generation disciple of Qiu Chuji of the Quanzhen School. There are currently 9 Taoist priests and more than 60 volunteers.
