East Hill

East Hill EL+89, also known as Shen Hill, faces West Hill across the water, hence its name. According to old records, the Xia Shi rocks were originally two connected hills, which were said to have been separated during the reign of Qin Shi Huang, thus forming East and West Hills. Since Gu Kuang in the Tang Dynasty, numerous scholars and writers have visited Xia Shi East Hill, leaving behind popular poems. The Zhibiao Pagoda on the summit of East Hill was first built in the Southern Song Dynasty. The pagoda was destroyed in 1969 and later rebuilt. More than 60 cultural relics from the Song and Yuan dynasties, including relics, were unearthed from the original pagoda's underground palace.
