Seven Days and Six Nights Journey on Hainan's Eastern Route

The entire route: Haikou—Ling Shui Fenjiezhou—Wanning Shenzhou Peninsula—Wenchang—Haikou, travel by public transport + taxi. Specific itinerary: day1: Arrive at Haikou Meilan Airport, take the airport high-speed train directly to Ling Shui, then taxi to Fenjiezhou Island. Accommodation: Fenjiezhou Island Fishing Club (staying on the island means no need to pay for entrance tickets, boat tickets, or sightseeing car tickets). If you require star-rated hotel accommodation, don't consider it. Benefits of staying on the island: After the tourists leave the island, it becomes very quiet and is great for taking photos. The sea is as clear as glass, and the weather is perfect for photography. The downside: There are not many dining options, and whether you can find something tasty depends on luck. Note⚠️: If you want to watch the sunset on Fenjiezhou Island, make sure to get to the island before 5:30 pm, otherwise, you can only wait for the 6:00 pm or 7:00 pm boat to the island. day2: Spend half a day on Fenjiezhou, check out at noon and taxi to Wanning Shenzhou Peninsula. Accommodation: Shenzhou Peninsula When the sun comes out on Fenjiezhou, you can see the stunningly beautiful glass sea. After checking out at noon, head to the Shenzhou Peninsula, where the hotel has its own beach and a popular restaurant and bar. The sunset on the Shenzhou Peninsula is incredibly beautiful, and there are special local foods around the hotel. day3-day6, check out at noon, take the high-speed train to Wenchang. Accommodation: Hua Zhu. Hai Xia Homestay (you can't order takeout at the homestay). Spend the morning on the hotel beach, and after arriving in Wenchang at noon, head straight for Laoba Tea. Order a cup of Laoba Tea with various snacks and you can sit and eat all afternoon. Both Longhua and Wangxi are good, and it's up to you how much you want to spend. During our journey in Wenchang, we experienced the warmth of the Hainan people. The homestay owner upgraded our room, the Didi driver recommended a suitable travel route, and a local fisherman took us to experience the sea, which greatly enhanced our travel experience. Wenchang is not only home to the glass sea but also has vast coconut groves, Baoluo rice noodles, Wenchang chicken, vinegar, Laoba Tea, and more. For the Dongjiao coconut grove, it is recommended to drive to the coconut grove viewing platform, Confucian Temple - Wen Nan Old Street - Yilong Bay Sea Library, to experience a different cultural atmosphere. Tonggu Ridge - Buddha Light Temple - Stone Park offer exceptional views (weather permitting). day6-day7: Check out from Wenchang, take a carpool straight to Haikou. Accommodation: Qilou Old Street After checking out from Wenchang in the morning, it takes nearly two hours by carpool to go straight to Haikou. Haikou's Qilou Old Street is great for photography, with many special local foods recommended. In the afternoon, head straight to Riyue Plaza duty-free shop, where it's recommended to buy beauty products from gdf. The sales assistants are enthusiastic and will help calculate discounts, combining offers. The cdf event discounts are not significant. The night market at Hainan University's South Gate is a must-visit, with lots of snacks, and the Qingbu Liang is superb. On the last day, prepare for the return trip. Since I can't drive, I chose public transportation + taxi, but our experience of seeing the sea was not compromised at all. Seeing the sea is not limited to Sanya; Ling Shui and Wenchang are recommended for their less crowded locations. With good planning, a beautiful glass sea is not a dream. If you can drive, it is still recommended to drive/rent a car for travel, as it offers more freedom and it's convenient to stop and enjoy the roadside scenery. Cost: Excluding duty-free shops and airfare, the average cost per person is over 2700 yuan. Due to off-peak travel, including round-trip airfare, the cost is about 5000 yuan per person.
