Gyeongju: A Perfect 2-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Upon arriving at Gyeongju Station, the first destination was Daereungwon. 🌳 This area, lined with massive ancient tombs, is a place where you can truly feel the thousand-year history of the Silla Dynasty. The highlight was exploring the interior of Cheonmachong, which offered a fascinating glimpse into the burial practices of Silla royalty. Walking along the path surrounded by tombs, with cherry blossoms fluttering in the breeze, added a touch of charm to the experience. 🌸 Next, we headed to Cheomseongdae, located right next to Daereungwon. ⛅ As the oldest astronomical observatory in Korea, it was awe-inspiring to see. Strolling through the flower fields and open plains around Cheomseongdae brought a sense of tranquility and healing. 📷 For lunch, we had a quick meal near Gyochon Village, and in the afternoon, we moved on to Hwangnyongwon. 🏯 Although this temple building was restored relatively recently, its scale and grandeur were truly impressive. The expansive garden and elegant architecture made it a fantastic spot for photography. The peaceful atmosphere, with few visitors, brought a sense of calm to the mind. 🙏 In the evening, we checked into a traditional hanok guesthouse in Gyeongju and ended the day with a nighttime stroll. The night views of Cheomseongdae and the area around Daereungwon offered a completely different ambiance compared to the daytime. 🌙✨ Day 2: Early in the morning, we visited Gyochon Hanok Village and Woljeonggyo Bridge. 🏘️ Walking through the serene alleys, we discovered many traditional tea houses and workshops, making it a delightful experience to explore. We enjoyed a cup of traditional tea, savoring the leisurely atmosphere. 🍵 Finally, we returned to Bomun Complex, where we took a relaxing walk surrounded by canola flowers and cherry blossoms, and also purchased some souvenirs. 💛🌼 Gyeongju is more than just a tourist destination; it’s a city where you can feel a peaceful flow of time.
