Winter in Seoul brings pleasant sunshine and a slight chill in the air. Over the weekend, I decided to escape the city's hustle and bustle and head to Seoul Grand Park, located not far from the city center, for a relaxing trip surrounded by nature and fun. Getting There: Convenient and Cost-Effective It's easy to get there from the city. Just take Line 4 of the subway to Seoul Grand Park Station, and the park's entrance is right outside the exit. The convenient and hassle-free transportation makes it perfect for those who don't want to drive. Morning at the Park: Stepping into a Green World As soon as you enter the park, it feels like stepping into an oasis. Despite it being winter, the park is still vibrant, with the lake shimmering and a few wild ducks leisurely swimming. Walking along the paths, the tall trees and fresh air instantly lift your spirits. Zoo Exploration: Fun for All Ages Seoul Grand Park is best known for its large zoo. I bought a ticket and stepped into a world of animals. Asian elephants leisurely munching on grass, polar bears showing off their agility in a transparent pool, and playful monkeys jumping around the trees. The zoo has a wide variety of animals, and the environment is designed to be close to nature, making it a great place to bring kids. Highly Recommended: Don't miss the 'Predator Zone' in the zoo, where lions and tigers showcase their majestic presence, making you marvel at the wonders of nature. Rose Garden and Cable Car: Romance and Fun Combined If you love romance, visit the Rose Garden (best viewed in spring and summer) and stroll along the fragrant paths. For a different perspective of the park, try the cable car! It glides over the lake, offering a panoramic view and a great spot for photos. Leisure Tips: Don't Forget to Try the Park's Food After a morning of fun, my stomach was growling. I tried some hot Korean fish cakes and pancakes at the park's food stalls, simple yet satisfying. If you have time, bring a picnic mat and a packed lunch, and find a spot by the lake to enjoy a rare moment of leisure. Evening Return: Reluctant but Satisfied As the sun set, I took the subway back to Seoul, still reminiscing about the day's highlights.
