Guizhou Provincial Museum of Ethnic Cultures

Another trip to colorful Guizhou, and another chance to visit the Guizhou Provincial Museum of Ethnic Cultures. I had to share it with my friends! The Guizhou Provincial Museum of Ethnic Cultures is located in the south square of Zhucheng Square on Zunyi Road, Yingbin Avenue, Guiyang City. It is east of the Nanming River and west of Guiyang Railway Station. The museum's collection mainly consists of items from the daily lives of ethnic minorities in southwest China, especially the 17 ethnic minorities native to Guizhou (including the Miao, Bouyei, Dong, Tujia, Yi, Gelao, and Shui). The collection includes traditional clothing, silver jewelry, masks, production and daily necessities, and ancient ethnic documents and books that reflect the history and culture of various ethnic groups, as well as audio and video materials that reflect the political, economic, and cultural customs of various ethnic groups throughout history. The Guizhou Ethnic Customs Exhibition is located in the front hall on the second floor of the museum and in halls A, B, and C on the third floor. The exhibition covers an area of about 2,500 square meters and is divided into five parts: "Preface Hall," "Where We Come From," "Our Homeland," "Our Life," and "Where We Are Going." The exhibition introduces the production, life, and ethnic customs of the 18 ethnic groups native to Guizhou. It is a great place to learn about the ethnic groups native to Guizhou!
