Banyan and Cedar Lakes in Guilin

The Banyan and Cedar Lakes are two out of the four famous lakes in Guilin that merge to form one lake. Each of the lakes are named as such after the cedar trees grown by the shores of Cedar Lake and the Banyan tree grown near to the Ancient South Gate, one of the attractions located near Banyan Lake. This scenic area, just like the many other gardens and parks in China, have uniquely designed traditional bridges and stone sculptures similar to those in Chinese movies. These bridges not only serve as a means to cross over to the different parts of the gardens and parks by cutting through the water bodies but also add a touch of aesthetics.
