Stay at Junyu Hotel with a view of the Li River

The second hotel I stayed at in Guilin was Junyu Hotel, and the experience was quite pleasant. I highly recommend it! The hotel is conveniently located near Guilin's Two Rivers and Four Lakes area, surrounded by landmarks such as Xiaoyao Tower, Dongxi Lane, Zhengyang Pedestrian Street, and the Sun and Moon Twin Pagodas. All these attractions are within walking distance, making it a prime location. Situated right by the Li River, I booked a "Scenic Mountain and Water King Room" with a view of the river. The room is spacious, over 30 square meters, with a large bathroom that doesn’t feel cramped. The decor is simple, with a mountain and water-themed backdrop behind the bed, but otherwise, the room lacks distinctive features. From the room, you can see part of the Li River scenery, including the nearby Liberation Bridge. Breakfast is served in the first-floor restaurant, but the buffet options are limited and the taste is average, so I’d recommend trying Guilin rice noodles outside instead. Upon check-in, we received an afternoon tea voucher for the rooftop music bar. The voucher included two drinks and a small plate of snacks. While there are live music performances in the evening, we visited in the afternoon and didn’t catch any. The rooftop offers stunning views of Guilin, with a clear sight of Xiaoyao Tower and its surroundings. There’s also a "Guilin" text wall on the upper level, perfect for photo opportunities. The hotel is surrounded by plenty of dining options and is within walking distance of Dongxi Lane. It’s also close to Elephant Trunk Hill Scenic Area, which is worth visiting at night to enjoy the illuminated view of Elephant Trunk Hill. You can then stroll back along Binjiang Road, which is lined with great shops and restaurants. 🏨 Junyu Hotel (Guilin Two Rivers and Four Lakes Elephant Trunk Hill Branch) 📍 No. 2 Jiefang East Road, Xiufeng District, Guilin, Guangxi Province
