Guilin Guihu Lake

Guihu Lake was originally a section of the moat of Guilin City in the Song Dynasty. In the last year of Chongning (1106), Wang Zudao dug a Chaozong Canal between Laoren Mountain and Yinshan West Lake, connecting Yushan Mountain, Huilong Mountain, Laoren Mountain to Yinshan Mountain, and then connecting to Guihu Lake. Due to the siltation of West Lake, Chaozong Canal also gradually became blocked, and only Guihu Lake has been preserved to this day. After the 1980s, water was again diverted from Yushan to Guihu Lake, and flowers and trees were planted along the shore. The ancient and famous trees along the shore of Guihu Lake, the clear blue water, and the unique mountains together form the beautiful waters of Guihu Lake. There are many bridges built along the lake, including Xiqing Bridge, Baoxian Bridge, Guanyi Bridge, Lize Bridge, Yingbin Bridge, etc. The bridges have different styles, which add to the viewing experience of Guihu Lake. There are also banyan gardens, ginkgo gardens, cedar gardens, metasequoia gardens, magnolia gardens, palm gardens and other garden landscapes in the Guihu Scenic Area, which are scattered all over the place and are beautiful beyond words.
