Shamian

Shamian is located in Liwan District, Guangzhou, near Exit 6 of Cultural Park subway station. This area was once a foreign concession, which explains the many colonial buildings with strong European influences in various styles including Gothic, Baroque, and more. The Pearl River flows right beside the former concession. You can take a leisurely stroll along the river and enjoy the breeze. Here you'll also find China's first five-star hotel, the White Swan Hotel. A short walk away is the Guangzhou Customs Museum, and inside Cultural Park is the Thirteen Factories Museum, where you can glimpse Guangzhou's prosperity and splendor.
