Art in Motion: Exploring the 3rd GDMoA Annual Artist Academic Nomination Exhibition

From April 11 to July 27, 2025, the Guangdong Museum of Art’s new pavilion in Liwan District, Guangzhou, hosts the 3rd GDMoA Annual Artist Academic Nomination Exhibition in Halls 7 and 8 on the second floor.  This exhibition spotlights five distinguished artists—Pang Maokun, Shen Shaomin, Xiang Jing, Zhang Peili, and Zheng Zhongbin—whose works reflect innovative thinking and experimental approaches in contemporary art. Exhibition Highlights: • Pang Maokun reinterprets classical oil paintings by infusing them with contemporary visual elements, expanding the dimensions of painting language and space.  • Shen Shaomin utilizes installations, poetry, and public art, transforming materials like harvested straw into paper, ink, and bricks to create poetic forms.  • Zhang Peili continues to engage with reality through video, text, and sound, employing innovative filming techniques in collaboration with professional film crews.  • Xiang Jing explores human existence and identity through figurative sculpture, offering profound reflections on universal human conditions.  • Zheng Zhongbin combines experimental ink and abstract art, integrating phenomenology and new materialist philosophy to explore space, light, and materiality.
