A great place to spend a day. Baietan Bay Area Art Center is located at the confluence of three rivers in Baietan, Liwan District, Guangzhou. It is a major landmark public cultural facility that integrates the Guangdong Museum of Art, Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, and Guangdong Literature Museum. It was designed by a team led by He Jingtang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. The total construction area is over 140,000 square meters, and the total exhibition area is 40,000 square meters. The building looks like a ship moored on the bank of the Pearl River, symbolizing a giant ship full of Lingnan cultural and artistic treasures that is about to set sail. It will open to the public on May 1, 2024.
