Hong Xiuquan's Former Residence is located at No. 52, Xinhua Road, Xinhua Street, Huadu District, Guangzhou City. It is one of the New Eight Scenic Spots of Huadu District! Originally built in the Qing Dynasty, it was burned down by the Qing army after the Jintian Uprising. In 1961, the Guangzhou Municipal Cultural Relics and Archaeology Team restored and rebuilt it based on the excavated house foundation. It showcases the historical environment of Hong Xiuquan, the leader of the peasant movement, and has a strong Hakka and rural landscape. There are buildings such as the study room pavilion, Hakka houses, and the Hong Clan Ancestral Hall. There is also a longan tree planted by Hong Xiuquan in his youth and an ancient well of the Hong Clan. It is now a base for patriotic education and a place for leisure and entertainment! 1988, the third batch of national key cultural relics protection units! 1994, Guangzhou's first batch of patriotic education bases! 2005, rated as a national AAAA-level tourist attraction!
