Guangzhou Citywalk: Escape from the busy city and visit Lingnan Water Village on weekends

Are there any wage earners like me who are tired of the intense workdays? I don’t like the fast pace and high pressure of life. I like to go to a place where I can slow down and enjoy the tranquility on weekends. I quietly recommend Xiaozhou Village in Haizhu District, Guangzhou to you. Xiaozhou Village in Guangzhou has a long history. The village was built in the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty and was called "Yingzhou" in ancient times. There are many ancient banyan trees, kapok trees, longan trees and mango trees planted in the village, many of which are hundreds of years old. Xiaozhou Village has preserved its complete water town pattern to this day. It is a Lingnan-style water town and the Guangzhou version of Zhouzhuang. In the early years, it was a gathering place for artists' studios and was known as an art village. Now, many studios and cafes have closed down, and there is less hustle and bustle of the city and more tranquility.
