Today, while running errands on Yanjiang West Road, I accidentally discovered a free attraction - the Guangzhou Overseas Chinese Museum. The museum was opened to the public on June 1, 2022, and was converted from the original Wuxianmen Power Plant. Although it has been carefully renovated and the exhibits have been reasonably placed, if you look up, you can still see the basic framework of the power plant. At its peak, the power plant had five chimneys, and you can still see the outlet of one of them. The museum spans from the second to the fourth floor, with multiple themed areas such as: Home and Country, Bridge with Overseas Chinese, and Ambition to Reach the Sky, etc. The Guangzhou Overseas Chinese Museum mainly displays the deeds and contributions to the country of Chinese people from Guangdong Province who have moved abroad, with key figures including: Rong Hong, Zhan Tianyou, Liang Cheng, Sun Mei, Sun Ke, Xian Xinghai, Zeng Sheng, Chen Ce, Liu Jiwen, Cheng Tianguo, etc. The Ambition to Reach the Sky themed area introduces many military and civilian airports in Guangzhou: Baiyun Airport, Tianhe Airport, Shipai Racecourse Airport, Henan Shatou Airport, Nan Shitou Airport, etc. The museum is a patriotic education base in Guangzhou.
