A Park Full of History

Come enjoy a fun day in the park! Take in the lively atmosphere of People’s Park situated right in the heart of Guangzhou. The site in which People’s Park is found has a diverse and rich history that can be traced back as far as the Sui dynasty (581-618 AD). History: The park was opened in 1921 and designed by Yang Xizong a graduate of Cornell University. In 1926, the park was originally named Central Park but later renamed People’s Park. Throughout time, the park has been used as a place of gathering, to celebrate festivals and for important events. What I love about People’s Park: As one of the most popular parks in Guangzhou, there is always a lively atmosphere. People are dancing in the square. The park is aesthetically beautiful and always clean. There is plenty of area to sit down and just enjoy the scenery or have picnic.
