Sanxingdui Art Masterpieces [Unrivaled, dare not say unprecedented].

Sanxingdui Museum is located in Guanghan City, Deyang City, Sichuan Province. It is the largest, longest-lasting, and richest cultural connotation of ancient cities, ancient countries, and ancient Shu cultural sites discovered in southwestern China. The museum was planned in 1988 and officially opened to the public in October 1997. There are many cultural relics unearthed from the Sanxingdui site, many of which are precious national treasures, such as the bronze statue, the bronze sacred tree, and the golden scepter. These cultural relics show the highly developed and unique charm of ancient Shu civilization. The exhibits in the Sanxingdui Museum are rich and diverse, including pottery, jade, gold, and bronze. Among them, the bronze statue is a masterpiece among the many bronze statues in Sanxingdui. It is considered to be the image of the highest ruler. Its clothing, image, and volume all show its noble status. In addition, the museum also exhibits important cultural relics such as the golden scepter, ivory, sacrificial mountain jade, and pottery tripod, which not only show the superb craftsmanship of the ancient Shu people, but also reflect their unique religious beliefs and social structure. The construction and development of the Sanxingdui Museum has gone through several stages, including the construction and opening of the new museum. On July 27, 2023, the new museum of the Sanxingdui Museum began trial operation. The exterior design of the new museum was inspired by the original image of Sanxingdui. The building area of the new museum is 5 times that of the original exhibition hall. It exhibits more than 1,500 cultural relics, nearly 600 of which are exhibited for the first time, including more than 300 treasures unearthed from the newly discovered sacrificial pit. Sanxingdui Museum is not only a place to display ancient Shu civilization, but also a platform for scientific research and education. Through various exhibitions and activities, the museum conveys to the public the rich connotations and historical value of ancient Shu civilization, and also promotes further research and exploration of Sanxingdui culture and the origin of Chinese civilization.
