King's Trail - the most dangerous trail in the world🤯

I had heard about the Spanish King's Trail (El Caminito del Rey) early in the morning! This trip to Spain finally gave me the opportunity to experience the King's Trail, which is known as the "most dangerous trail in the world". The King's Trail is located in the province of Malaga in southern Spain and is approximately 7.7 kilometers long. It was built in the early 20th century and was originally a workers' passage built to connect two hydroelectric power stations. In 1921, King Alfonso XIII of Spain came here to inspect the project and walked along this trail, hence the name "King's Path". The trail used to be very narrow (only 1 meter) and there were no guardrails. This has resulted in the loss of lives of several adventurous young people here. Therefore, the King's Trail is also known as the most dangerous trail in the world and was closed by the Spanish government. The current King's Trail has been repaired and reopened in 2015. So, now you don’t have to worry too much about safety issues~ We took the train directly from Malaga to El Chorro. Once you arrive, it takes about 15 minutes to walk to the entrance. After a brief safety briefing, we put on our helmets and began this exciting journey. The trail begins on a narrow boardwalk suspended 100 meters above the cliffs of El Chorro gorge. Standing on the trail and overlooking the Guadalhorce River below, I was a little scared even though I am not afraid of heights. We walked along the cliffs, passing through several narrow caves and bridges. The most thrilling thing is standing on the glass observation deck. The transparent floor gives the illusion of being suspended in mid-air, and the stunning view of the surrounding mountains is breathtaking. As we approached the end, we finally reached the most famous cliff iron bridge. This iron bridge, about 30 meters long, spans between two cliffs. It is really exciting to walk on it. The whole journey took about 3 hours. Although the road was thrilling, there were railings throughout the journey, so there was no need to worry too much. I think The King's Trail is well worth a visit! Although the transportation is troublesome, the scenery along the way is really beautiful. When you see the old trails, it's hard to imagine how people walked there back then. Recommended for everyone who likes nature and challenges themselves to come here🤍 King's Trail Tips: 1. Book in advance: The number of visitors is limited every day, so it is recommended to book tickets in advance on the official website. If you are afraid of trouble, you can sign up for a day trip and go directly from Malaga. 2. Appropriate equipment: Wear comfortable and non-slip shoes and bring enough water. 3. Pay attention to the weather: avoid traveling in windy and rainy weather to ensure safety. 4. Overcome fear of heights: If you have a severe fear of heights, this route may not be suitable for you. 5. Follow the instructions: Follow the instructions of the staff throughout the whole process and do not leave the trail without permission. 📍Address: El Caminito del Rey, 29550 Ardales, Málaga, Spain #100WaysToTravel #RoyalCrossroads #Spain #Malaga
