This time I will introduce a famous architectural attraction in Belarus: Grodno Old Castle. The Old Castle is the only surviving royal castle in modern Belarus. The castle is located on a high and steep hill on the right bank of the Neman River, near the mouth of the Khoradnikhanka River. Its construction began during the period of the Old Russian State. From the beginning of the 12th century it became the royal residence of the Grodno principality. The Prince's Tower, the Lower Church, the Upper Church, and other residential and farm buildings were built here. Since 2015, a large-scale reconstruction of the building is underway in its assumed form from the late 16th century.
