Cherry Blossom Viewing at Gero Gassho Village

Gero Onsen Gassho Village is a compact version of the traditional Gassho-style villages. Although there is a small entrance fee, all the houses are open for exploration, making it a high-value experience—just visiting one house feels worth the price (compared to the Gassho Village in Takayama). Gero Onsen offers a variety of options, and while it may not be as bustling as Takayama, the hot spring inns are more affordable. Accessible by train, it’s a great choice for cherry blossom viewing in spring. Located about an hour by train from Takayama, it’s also quite convenient if you plan to visit Takayama.
