Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and unwind in Penang Island during the non-peak season, where you can explore the island with less traffic. I visited Syarikat Café for Saturday's dinner and tried their handmade pasta — to my surprise, it was incredibly delicious! Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, the café features a charming retro-contemporary interior that creates a cozy atmosphere. I had the pork carbonara paired with a hot cup of Earl Grey. Later, we headed into town for dessert at a retro, old-school dessert spot, called Loong Fong Dessert Shop, where I enjoyed a traditional red bean soup with orange peel. The best part? We still managed to visit a quaint café called Yolk, near the port.
