I went to a city called Genoa from Milan, Italy. It's a city that is close enough to Italy that it can be visited as a day trip. My goal was to go to Cinque Terre, so I stopped by on the way. Since I was traveling with a suitcase, I looked for a hotel close to the station and booked it on trip.com. You can leave your suitcase before and after check-in.
