I just came back from Ganzhou and have put together this no-turning-back day trip guide❗️ 🗺️ Itinerary: Southern Song City—Yugu Platform—Chiang Kai-shek's Former Residence—Song City Wall—Bajingtai—Ancient Floating Bridge—Standard Clock—Zao'er Lane—Fushou Ditch Museum—Wei Family Mansion—Southern Song City First 1⃣️ stop: Southern Song City Historical and Cultural Tourism Area This place is full of antique buildings, walking into the city gate is like traveling through a thousand years, with an antique charm, and the night view is even more enchanting. Second 2⃣️ stop: Yugu Platform The Yugu Platform mentioned in Xin Qiji's poem 'Below the solitary Yugu Platform flows the clear river water, amidst it how many travelers' tears,' is right here. Climbing the Yugu Platform, you can overlook the entire cityscape. Third 3⃣️ stop: Chiang Ching-kuo's Former Residence The son of Chiang Kai-shek, who once served as the leader of Taiwan, his old home in Ganzhou is right next to the Song City Wall. Fourth 4⃣️ stop: Song City Wall The existing Ganzhou city wall, which was built during the Tang Dynasty, has a history of over a thousand years and is of great value for the study of ancient Chinese city wall history. Fifth 5⃣️ stop: Bajingtai A symbolic ancient building of Ganzhou with a long history, it is a symbol of the ancient city of Ganzhou, nearly a thousand years old. Climbing this platform, you can see all the eight famous sights of Ganzhou, hence the name 'Bajingtai'. Sixth 6⃣️ stop: Ancient Floating Bridge Made of over 100 small boats connected by ropes, it was built during the Song Dynasty's Qiandao period and has a history of over 800 years. It's worth a visit, although it's often crowded. Seventh 7⃣️ stop: Standard Clock In the 1950s, the 'Standard Clock' was built here, a city landmark of that era, with significant historical meaning, worth checking in. Eighth 8⃣️ stop: Zao'er Lane An ancient street from the Southern Song Dynasty, called Jiangjia Lane in the Ming Dynasty, the ancient street has a variety of architectural styles, with a total length of just over 200 meters, including Hakka architecture from southern Jiangxi, Huizhou architecture, Western-style buildings, and more. Ninth 9⃣️ stop: Fushou Ditch Museum China's first underground drainage system museum, Fushou Ditch is one of the world's earliest urban sewers, and the museum also has a section of the Fushou Ditch ruins that can be viewed up close. The drainage system is still in use today. Tenth 🔟 stop: Wei Family Mansion Originally built during the Jiaqing period and completed in the early Republic of China, it has a history of 200 years and is the largest existing Qing Dynasty family residence in Ganzhou city.
